Nina Gribat is Professor for Urban Planning at BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg. Her research interests include: urban development conflicts in contexts of urban shrinkage and rapid urban growth; intersections between material and socio-cultural relations, particularly in terms of urban infrastructure; and educational and professional reform movements in architecture and planning. Nina is working on the Ghana case study.

Christian Rosen is a PostDoc in Sociology at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. His research interests lie in the field of sociological theory on (social) space and the city, urban development processes and their involved actors, infrastructures and the processes of their distribution, in elite research and in the field of qualitative methods, especially ethnography. Christian is working on the Peru case study.

Pearl Puwurayire is a Doctoral Student in Urban and Regional Planning in BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Her research interests are in urban studies, urban informalities, infrastructure studies as well as health and safety. Pearl is working on the Sunyani case study of the project.

MsC. Álvaro Del Carpio León is a Director and Professor at the school of Architecture at the University of San Martin de Porras Arequipa-Peru. His research interests lie in urban and environmental planning and implementation of land development policies; and in Education: the teaching of architecture and urbanism in multicultural environments.

Professor at the Department of Planning, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, and visiting Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Planning, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Planners FGIP and sits on the International Advisory Board of the Southern Urbanism Masters Programme at the African Centre for Cities (ACC) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His professional and research interests include urban environmental governance, sustainability, climate change, spatial planning and natural resources (land) management. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Spatial Planning from the University of Dortmund, Germany and has consulted in over 20 countries worldwide.
